Ugh, upon closer inspection these seem to be the gnomes of the second big software crisis after all. If I could just switch the carrier manually I should be fine. Alas, a bug in #android from three years ago or so prevents me from doing so. Or I could downgrade all the way to android 9... Which would be much easier I guess if I had meaningful mobile network. 🙄
