Anyone wanna get paid to work more on #oasis ?

Feeling a bit sad about the state of ssb on desktop. At the same time we have a bunch of money lying around for just the purpose of developing this. Anyone wanna use some of that money? I'm thinking the main purpose would be to try to get feature parity-ish with Patchwork.

In the Patchwork OC we have $1324 USD (after Cryptix's invoice), this money is usable if 2 of me, @Christian, and/or @cinnamon approves it, which I think we would. It also sounds like maybe the money in the Patchbay OC would be usable (@mix) which would be another $3325 USD.

Doing some quick maths on a 30 USD hourly rate (mentioned in mix's post linked above) then it's (1324+3325)/30~=155 hours available to be paid for.

I'll transfer whatever is left on the #patchfox oc to the #oasis OC.

@Powersource

Lots of good stuff here: https://github.com/fraction/oasis/issues?q=is%3Aopen+is%3Aissue+milestone%3A%221%3A+Barebones%22

I'd recommend starting out with some pairing - this is a great way to give a tour, get a sense of what sort of coding is involved etc.

@epk have you done any programming before or is this your first foray? Context like that would help people understand how much support might be required

@epk I think we're looking for someone who's pretty ok at js for this. This is pretty high level and doesn't involve too much poking at the infamous backend parts of ssb so it could probably be a pretty good job for someone that hasn't coded much around ssb before. But it's still a weird stack and would have to be pretty self-directed (we could include a bit of pair-programming though) so maybe not a great fit for a fresh developer. Maybe you could try fixing some smaller unpaid issue to test the waters and see how that feels?
