https://sourcehut.org/ perhaps? sunshine gardens is planning on launching a sr.ht cluster in the future, but we aren't ready for that amount of load yet.
I am prepared to make git-ssb meet SSBC's needs if that is wanted.
@cel we'll need a git forge of some kind, anyway. i'd like to stick with git-ssb if possible.
i echo what @elavoie says. 😺
"SSBC/SSBserver, like so many otherwise promising Github alternatives in development, has inexplicably chosen to develop on Github."
hi @angel'in heavy syrup, can you really not understand why we're using GitHub? and the real 50 shades of grey, why are we using GitHub when (from my perspective) most Scuttlebutt maintainers are keen to migrate to something like GitLab (we have an ssbc
org)?
if you see a job that needs doing, it's your job to do. 💜
@cel I would have already switched to git-ssb, except I needed a queue-like issue tracker. Email gives a mark as unread option (i.e. put back in the queue). However, I'm not the person you'd need to convince now...
Without any explanation, discussion, elaboration, how do you expect me to understand?
@angel'in heavy syrup: if you don't understand, maybe try asking for more information before making accusatory statements? we're squishy humans, like you, just trying to make a small positive change to our local landscape.
i think if we want any hope of providing viable alternatives to harmful systems, we should be supporting our peers in solidarity, not scapegoating other little values-aligned folx for being "not good enough". honestly i wish we could do everything perfectly, it's been over 5 years since i joined the Scuttlebutt project, and there's still so so much i'd like to see done before i feel the Scuttlebutt is "good enough" for mainstream consumption, sometimes it feels overwhelming how much work is needed for a little progress. ❤️
