Our #ngi-pointer team is working on a new feed format for partial replication.

The background here is that, using the current json based format would make it immortal with all its quirks and problems. We thus decided to make a format that's super simple to implement and just caters to the needs of meta-feeds. After some convincing, we are now trying the established bencode (think torrent metadata) instead of bipf (which would need custom encoder libraries before being able to implement the format).

One question needs all your input: What should we call it?

Feel free to reply here or on this issue.

Off to a good start, @moid! :)

A bit more background on the question at hand: @arj called the initial draft bipfy badger (hence the repo name), the linked issue mentions boring butt is also from him, and came after my suggestion to use bencode.

*googles names for different types of underwear*

(because the metafeeds are gonna keep the different parts of our butts together... 🙄)

or to keep with the previous naming theme of gabby grove and classic crap, maybe meta mycelium. (or meta plus another word that starts with m.
