Trick to remember for next time I get locked out of a public wifi because I've been on it an entire hour.

  1. Disconnect from the wifi network.
  2. nmcli conn modify --temporary <wifi name> 802-11-wireless.cloned-mac-address <new mac address>
(--temporary is optional. <wifi name> is the network you were connected to. If you want the new mac adress to look more convincing, take your current one (check nmcli) and change numbers in it except for the first three pairs, since those identify a manufacturer and they can look that up)
  3. Connect to the network again.

Credit goes to some stackoverflow answer I found on my phone.
