@chc4 but you don't need permission to run a pub handed down to you from a more senior pub, you just do it and then you can send out invite codes. Basically, each ssb instance is it's own ~zod. Also, pubs don't tell you who any one is, because the id is the pubkey - and because of friend-of-a-friend replication, you can generally get someone's feed from multiple pubs.
I have a question though: would hoon's type system support plugging in a different peer lookup system? but otherwise allowing the rest of the commands to still work?
