@skyebend the sbot "add" RPC method sbot.add(value...) adds a message to the DB (erroring if invalid or already present).
With sbotc CLI like this: sbotc add '{"previous":..., ..."signature":"..."}' (however, I'm not sure if passing messages in the CLI like this fully works with non-ASCII characters)
For OOO... In ssb-ooo (ssb-db/ssb-server), the add function is not exposed, though maybe the functionality could be hacked in with the stream method. In ssb-db2 there is a method for it: addOOO.
patchfoo does not expose this functionality currently (adding messages)
