If you are using patchwork then you can right click and the choose copy text. You can then paste this in a window to see the formatting! (that's why you sometimes see errant words in some of my posts as I forget something was copy pasted above the grass!)

The neat thing about the "Copy Message Text" approach is that you 100% are using an existing content reference which means you're just pointing to already existing data. You're just adding a link to something from your feed. My understanding is that this data object does not then get reproduced, rather refereced. So we get an abundance and proliferation without the replication of the data storage ...
