Things are going, that's for certain.
To be fair, the server that I have running nextcloud has 8 threads, 16GB ram, and uses SSD for the majority of storage right now so that could definitely be a key factor in our differing experiences. I especially am liking some of the "groupware" functionality that I'm using to organize the family and extended family members with calendars/groups/etc for getting folks on the same page.
I just got my SSB VM fixed up a few weeks ago, and I'm working on setting up with some friends a #git-ssb-web, hub, and proxy server on another box soon. Look forward to running into you around the #scuttleverse !
@patrick I've deployed Nextcloud recently and both my wife and I have the apps on iOS and Android respectively, we've had no syncing issues unless the server is down.
I'm running the server out of my house with a proxy server on a VPN to a tiny VM that just routes traffic back home and gives me a static IP address.
The thing I'm looking to expand with is some sort of music / video streaming application I can run off the same server. It's been tough to find ones are either open source or have real clients and not just implementations of old protocols with crappy client support. (I know I know, I could contribute)
