I think there's a sameAs thing would could do here @Rabble.
I actually like that they could be different but we could merge them.
This is relevant to #ahau work as well actually because if we have two records we're building for a waka say, we might want to keep them different, or choose to merge them if it's appropriate. Both are important ways
that being said, I also appreciate the curation aspect.
so far, to curate stuff, we make wikis/gatherings like the ssb-funding and ssb-research wikis, or simply own threads like the recent alchemist meta thread. It works, but I guess there's some consensus that it's somewhat ad-hoc.
I remember someone (@Dominic?) was working on follow and block lists, that were essentially abstract collections who's state was modified by append
and remove
messages published by the owner.
Maybe something like that could be made into a curation mechanism for other content than just feed IDs?
Hey @mixmix i think there is a UI problem, but the bigger problem is two friends could create the same hashtag while they're offline. They both start posting, then get online and start syncing. Even though both would be posting with #burningman because they started offline the system will think of them as distinct. Then we have to create a system by which users choose to join those and create a tangle to keep track of it.
This more complicated system works for collections and some interesting features, but simply tagging content, bear words work well.
